STEVE CHAPPELL (HOW TO TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT ED GEIN) Steve Chappell (CHAP) is an artist who expresses his ideas in various media. He loves comics, and his graphic novel STARK PLUG BOOK was published in 2017 (google it!). He is presently at work on an animated film which features the same character, STARK PLUG. CHAP is also an on-again-off-again printmaker who has produced hundreds of woodcut prints over the years rendered in a representational and cartoonish style that he so loves. HOW TO TALK TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT ED GEIN is a film completed in 2017, but using footage (shot by CHAP’s wife Kathleen) in 1997. This film is a good reflection of a typical weekend in the life of the Chappell family, and CHAP actually did think about making the film for 20 years! He just wanted to wait until the kids were old enough, and mature enough to get their permission to be featured in a weird film, and not risk exploiting them for the sake of ART.
